Brewers pick up must win vs. Norwood Indians on the road south of the tracks in NYA. The Brewers again had great pitching from Stephen Wiblemo and Jaime Paumen. Wiblemo threw 5 innings, stuck out 4 while walking two, and did not allow an earned run. Paumen pitched 4 solid innings of 2 hit ball, striking out 4, walking 2, and hitting 2 batters. The Brewers continue to pitch well and have a team ERA under 2.00.
Offensively small ball and clutch hitting led to 8 runs for the Brewers. Josh Kraby, Ryan Style, and Jorrin Pautz had multi hit games with Pautz leading the team in RBI's with 3. The Brewers played small ball, sacraficing and stealing runners into scoring position the whole game. The Brewers ended the game with 2 sacrafice bunts and 6 stolen bases.
All in all it was a great win for the Brewers who collected their first Crow River Valley League win and moved to 2 and 3 on the young season.
Notes: Jaime Paumen made his first appearance in a Brewers uniform a big one getting the 4 inning save and going 1 for 2 at the plate with a big 1 out two strike 2 RBI single in the top of the eighth to give himself some breathing room defensively. Jorrin Pautz collected 2 hits and 3 RBI while being on base 4 out his 5 plate appearances. Josh Kraby continued to be solid at the top of the lineup collecting 3 hits while scoring twice and swiping a base. Ryan Style also came up big collecting two hits while scoring twice, stealing 2 bases and picking up a key RBI in the top of the 6th to put the Brewers on top for good and notch the win for starting pitcher Stephen Wiblemo.
